Honestly they did a great job with this remake. It is faithful to the original games. Of course, there are gonna be design choices that not everyone agrees with, but that is inevitable; like spyro's purple color is not exactly as it was in the originals, or some areas have mountains where there were none
It brings Spyro’s livery closer to the original, with less pink and saturated colors, darker wings, and lighter scales. But if you want to return the original texture of Spyro, as it was in the first part, then you can easily do it using one of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy Cheats, described in the article by the link.
