Air con/climate failure. My air con seems to have stopped producing any chilled or cold air. On the 'low' setting (the one down from 16 degrees celsius) with the cabin direction selected (the one that faces at the driver/passenger) it still blows out hot/warm air. 'Econ' is off and even on 'Auto' at 16degrees, at best, it blows it mildly warm air.

Funny air con noise. « on: March 04, 2010, 06:19:18 pm ». Put my aircon on for the first time for a while as we managed to get up to a warm 11 degrees c. For some reason though the aircon is now making a funny metalic sort of rasp. Its not a constant noise, more like a pulsing sort of sound which seems to get slightly more frequent when you
Heater blower motor randomly stopped working. Put 12v to the fan and it spins. Bought a replacement fan with a new resistor module Tried different climate control module Checked all wiring from fan to climate control module to fuse box. All is good and getting 12v. Checked fuses and relays 2007 GTI
Your engine temperature sensor is responsible for relaying your engine temp to the ECU. Once the temp gets so hot, the ECU commands the radiator fan to come on. If your Golf has a bad engine temp sensor the radiator fan won’t know to come on, because the ECU won’t know how hot the engine is. You’ll need to locate and test the engine temp Putting the air recirculation on would help a bit because the air the system.is cooling starts at a cooler temperature. And we refer to regassing the air con. It's gas at normal air pressure, but when in the pressurised system that is car air-conditioning, it's actually liquid. So it flows round the system.

With ECON de-selected the air con compressor should engage and the fan should run to draw air over the condenser. If the fan is not running it's more than likely the resistor on the low speed circuit has burnt out.
